Anna Maria Island Attractions
There’s more to Anna Maria Island than the beach! Whether you’re a first-timer to the island or a repeat visitor, there’s so much to do and see. Check out these Anna Maria Island attractions on your coastal vacation.
Anna Maria City Pier – The iconic Anna Maria City Pier was originally built in 1911 and served to provide dockage for large and small ships that imported and exported fish off Florida’s west coast into Tampa and St. Pete. The pier sustained damage from Hurricane Milton and is currently under repair, but visitors can still view it from Bayfront Park.
Anna Maria Island Historical Society – The Anna Maria Island Historical Society was founded in 1990, and the museum opened in 1992. The museum displays artifacts, photographs, and maps of the island’s history from its start as an Indian fishing camp to what it is today. You’ll also find the original city jail, the Belle Haven cottage that once sat on the Anna Maria City Pier, and a garden on the grounds. Admission is free, but donations are recommended. Hours vary depending don’t the season.
Artists Guild of Anna Maria Island – The Artists Guild of AMI’s gallery displays 50+ artists and hosts workshops, classes, and events throughout the year. Stop by the Guild gallery and peruse the work of talented artists in different mediums, including fine art, 2D and 3D, jewelry, stained glass, and much more. Artwork is available for purchase. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10AM to 5PM.
The Island Players – Catch a theater show at The Island Players during your AMI vacation! A staple of the AMI community since 1949 and granted a Florida Heritage Site, the theater presents five performances from October through May. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office.
